The Buddy Rich Estate is now a private retreat that includes a newly renovated main house with three bedrooms, along with two separate guesthouses, providing a total of six bedrooms. The estate features a pool, a sunken tennis court, and beautiful gardens. Everywhere you look, you’ll find ample space for privacy as well as plenty of opportunities to gather with friends.

THE
MAIN HOUSE
The midcentury main house exemplifies understated elegance. Designed by Meyer Davis, the interiors of each room exude a relaxed luxury unique to the property. Each of the three bedrooms opens onto the expansive grounds and private terraces. The various living areas blend airy spaciousness with intimate and inviting settings.
“What’s amazing is you don’t see any other houses when you’re there. You just see beautiful views of the mountain and this vibrant, lush garden. It’s like a mini country club”

THE
GROUNDS
The grounds of The Buddy Rich Estate create an atmosphere reminiscent of a private club. With spacious lawns, towering ancient palms, inviting fire pits, and thatched palapas, there are ample areas to gather with friends or enjoy a quiet moment reading a book in the shade. The large fire pit is a popular spot for cocktails, while the thatched palapa offers a cozy and shaded setting to watch tennis or enjoy an outdoor dinner.

THE HISTORY
When the legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich needed a break from touring the world, he returned home to Palm Springs. One of the most influential drummers in history, Buddy played alongside the legends of the big band and jazz eras both on and off stage. One can only imagine the fireside cocktails with Buddy and his music partners, such as Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong. During those vibrant years in Palm Springs, the Old Las Palmas neighborhood was also the desert home to Hollywood icons like Lucille Ball, Dinah Shore, Liberace, and Jack Warner.
